Code of Ethics…
The Sibbald Difference: A distinctive philosophy and code of ethics
John Sibbald Associates occupies a unique niche in the search firm marketplace, and has for almost 30 years. We owe this to an unequalled level of expertise in club and resort consulting along with two fundamental guiding principles:
- A sound business philosophy
- A strict code of professional ethics
We believe…
- Each client - new or old, large or small - deserves our equal efforts. Our goal in every search is to maintain our outstanding reputation for a quality effort so that every client is comfortable referring our services to a friend in the industry.
- The best professional recruiting services are rendered clients on a retainer basis - similar to that of law and accounting firms. We will never work on a contingency or fee splitting arrangement.
- We must always be more demanding of ourselves in terms of excellence of performance than our clients are of us .
- A quality staff, working in a quality environment, for quality clients, can still have fun working hard.
Code of professional ethics.
- The firm will accept only those assignments where there is a realistic probability of completing the search successfully; including, as necessary, the acceptance by a client of the firm's recommendations regarding adjustment of the job specifications and compensation to ensure a successful outcome.
- The firm will establish mutual understanding with a client at the outset of each assignment on objectives, approach, and fee arrangements.
- The firm will respect with equal diligence the confidentiality of candidate, client, and third party information.
- The firm believes that thorough reference checking is as much in a candidate's as a client's best interests. Accordingly, while respecting the various legal considerations - and, more importantly, the overriding confidentiality requirements - the firm will never facilitate a placement without its customary standard of discreet and comprehensive individual reference reports in written form.
- The firm will not, under any circumstances, accept payment for assisting an individual to find employment.
