How we work…

Many properties looking for a new manager have the misconception that engaging a search firm to assist them means relinquishing their responsibilities as a member of the club's already-formed Search Committee or Search Team. With John Sibbald Associates, that is simply not the case. Our role is to guide the entire search process - with the committee not only being actively involved throughout the process but in ultimately making all key decisions. We play the part of quality control on your search team.
It is important to recognize that club members involved in the search process are usually busy professional and business people with neither the time nor technical skills to evaluate club manager resumes, then thoroughly interview and reference check the best qualified candidates. As a result, searches are often more time consuming than they might be, and too frequently (the average club manager lasts only two and a half years on the job) results in a hire that is not right for either the club or the manager. More frequently, highly qualified and well-suited candidates are rejected simply because their resumes and credentials are not properly evaluated by industry-savvy professionals.
